RAGA TARANGA

Inspired by the devotional chants of Siddha Yoga, the beautiful melodies of Raga Taranga were created to draw the listener's awareness inside, to the place of inner stillness.

When we listen to instrumental renditions of these melodies, we can experience the exquisite beauty and power of the classical Indian ragas, melodic forms on which the chants are based. Each raga evokes a different mood, such as joyousness, tranquility, or bhakti (love and longing for God). A characteristic of the chants of Siddha Yoga is the blending of Indian and Western music and instruments, and this is a distinctive feature of this album.

Raga Taranga, which means "waves of melodies" in Sanskrit, is an interweaving of six arrangements to form a continuous flow of meditative sound.
